1.Dr.DHARMAMBAL AMMAIYAR NINAIVU WIDOW REMARRIAGE ASSISTANCE SCHEME

1.Objectives of the Scheme:

To encourage Widow Remarriage and To Rehabillitate the Widows.

2.Assistance provided :

Scheme-I:

Rs.25,000 ( Rs.15,000 Financial Assistance and Rs.10,000 as National Saving Certificate ) and From the date of 23.05.2016 , 8 gm gold coin (22 carat )is provided for making thirumangalyam.

Scheme-II:

Rs.50,000 ( Rs.30,000 Financial Assistance and Rs.20,000 as National Saving Certificate ) and From the date of 23.05.2016 , 8 gm gold coin (22 carat )is provided for making thirumangalyam.

3.Eligibility Criteria:

Scheme-I

  • Education Qualification not Required.

Scheme-II

  • Degree Holders from regular colleges, Distance Education / Government recognized Open University are eligible.
  • Diploma holders should have qualified from Institutions recognized by the Directorate of Technical Education, Government of Tamil Nadu.

4.General :

  • No income limit
  • Bride should have completed 20 years of age at the time of marriage 40years is upper age limit.

5.Certificates to be enclosed with the application:

  • Copy of School transfer certificate
  • Copy of X std Mark sheet- for scheme I
  • Copy of Degree /Diploma certificate to claim assistance under Scheme –II
  • Income certificate
  • Marriage invitation (Within 40 days before the date of marriage . Only in exceptional circumstances the applications can be accepted one day prior to the marriage).

6.Application Received :

  • The Application will be submitted through E- SavaiMaiyam with relevant documents.

2.E.V.R MANIAMMAIYAR NINAIVU MARRIAGE ASSISTANCE SCHEME FOR DAUGHTERS OF POOR WIDOWS

1. Objectives of the Scheme:

To help the poor widows who have faced the financial hardship in conducting their daughters marriage by providing assistance for the marriage of their daughters.

2. Assistance provided :

Scheme-I:

Rs.25,000 Financial Assistance and From the date of 23.05.2016 , 8 gm gold coin (22 carat )is provided for making thirumangalyam.

Scheme-II:

Rs.50,000 Financial Assistance and From the date of 23.05.2016 , 8 gm gold coin (22 carat )is provided for making thirumangalyam.

3. Eligibility Criteria:

Scheme-I

  • Education Qualification not Required.

Scheme-II

3.ANNAI THERESA NINAIVU MARRIAGE ASSISTANCE SCHEME FOR ORPHAN GIRLS

1. Objectives of the Scheme:

To help the orphan grils financially for their marriage.

2.Assistance provided :

Scheme-I:

Rs.25,000 Financial Assistance and From the date of 23.05.2016 , 8 gm gold coin (22 carat ) is provided for making thirumangalyam.

Scheme-II:

Rs.50,000 Financial Assistance and From the date of 23.05.2016 , 8 gm gold coin (22 carat )is provided for making thirumangalyam.

3. Eligibility Criteria:

Scheme-I:

    Education Qualification not Required.

Scheme-II:

  • Degree Holders from regular colleges, Distance Education / Government recognized Open University are eligible.
  • Diploma holders should have qualified from Institutions recognized by the Directorate of Technical Education, Government of Tamil Nadu.

General :

  • No income limit

  • Bride should have completed 18 years of age at the time of marriage.

  • Copies of Certificates showing that the applicant is an orphan obtained from M.P/MLA
  • The Death certificate of the father and mother.

5.Marriage invitation

4.Dr.MUTHULAKSHMI REDDY NINAIVU INTERCASTE MARRIAGE ASSISTANCE SCHEME

1. Objectives of the Scheme:

To abolish caste and community feelings based on brith and wiping out discrimination by encouraging inter – caste marriage.

2. Assistance provided :

Scheme-I: Scheme-I:

Rs.25,000 ( Rs.15,000 Financial Assistance and Rs.10,000 as National Saving Certificate ) and From the date of 23.05.2016 , 8 gm gold coin (22 carat )is provided for making thirumangalyam.

Scheme-II:

Rs.50,000 ( Rs.30,000 Financial Assistance and Rs.20,000 as National Saving Certificate ) and From the date of 23.05.2016 , 8 gm gold coin (22 carat )is provided for making thirumangalyam.

3. Eligibility Criteria:

THe following two categories of inter-caste marriages can avail benefits:-

Category-I

  • THe assistance is provided provided to newly married couples of whom one spouse should be from Scheduled caste/Scheduld tribe and the other from a different community..

Category-II

The assistance is provided to a newly married couple of whom one spouse is from other community (forward community) and the other from the Back ward Class /Most Backward Class Community.

5. SATHIYAVANI MUTHU AMMAIYAR NINAIVU FREE SUPPLY OF SEWING MACHINE SCHEME

1. Objectives of the Scheme:

  • Sewing Mechines are supplied free of cost with a view to increase the self employment potential for rehabilitation of destitute women/widows, deserted wives, differently Abled men and women, Socially affected women and women from economically weaker sections.

2. Assistance provided :

  • Sewing machine and accessories

3. To whom the benefit is due to be give:

  • Destitute women/widows, deserted wives, differently abled men and women,socially affected women and women from economically weaker sections
  • Should have knowledge of tailoring
  • Applicant should have completed 20 years of age at the time of apply and should not exceeds 40years is upper age limit.

4.Certificates to be enclosed with the application

  • Destitute /Deserted/Widow /Differently abled Certificate
  • Family Income Certificate ( Below Rs. 72000/-)
  • 6 months Tailoring Course completed Certificate
  • Caste Certificate

6.GIRLD CHILD PROTECTION SCHEME

Promoting education of girl children, eradicating female infanticide, discouraging the preference for male child,promoting the small family norm promoting the welfare of girl children in poor families and to raise the status of girl Children.

2. Assistance Provided :

Scheme 1 :

Rs 50,000/- Fixed Deposit in the name of girl child for the family which has only one girl child.( Interest amount shall be given annually to the girl child from the sixth year of the deposit )

Scheme 2 :

Rs.25000/- Fixed Deposit for each girl child where the family has two girl children only.( Interest amount shall be given annually to the girl child from the sixth year of the deposit )

3.Eligibility Criteria :

  • Either of the parents should have undergone sterilization within 35 years of age
  • Family should have only one/two female children
  • No male child in their family and In future no male child should be adopted.
  • The parents/grand parents should be a domicile of tamilnadu for a period pf 10 years at the time of submitting the application.

Scheme – 1:

  • Application should be made before the girl child completed 3 Years of age.

Scheme-II :

  • Application should be made before the second girl child completes 3 Years of age.
  • Annual Income Does Not exceeding Rs . 72,000/- for the family

4. Certificates to be enclosed with the application :

  • Brith Certificate for the Girl Children (Corporation /Taluk office /Municipality office)
  • Parents age proof
  • Sterilization certificate
  • Annual Income Certificate Does Not exceeding Rs . 72,000/- for the family
  • No male child certificate
  • Nativity certificate.

INTEGRATED CHILD DEVELOPMENT SERVICES

Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS), globally considered as one of the world’s largest and most unique community-based outreach system for promoting early childhood care for survival, growth and development was launched at Tirunelveli in 1984 as a welfare scheme for children between 0-6 years, pregnant women and lactating mothers. The scheme aims to address the issue of malnutrition among children, fulfill other needs for the complete development of children and provide health care services to pregnant women and lactating mothers.

At present there are 1261 Anganwadi Centres functioning in this district which are serving hot cooked meal and Pre-School activities covering children under the age group 2-6 years pregnant women and lactating mothers. Anganwadi Services Scheme under POSHAN 2.0 Integrated Nutrition Support Programme strengthens the content, delivery, outreach and outcome of the nutritional services

Objectives of Integrated Child Development Services :

  • To lay the foundation for the proper psychological, physical and social development of the child
  • To improve the nutritional and health status of children below the age of six years
  • To reduce the incidence of mortality, morbidity, malnutrition and school dropouts
  • Achieve effective coordination of policy and implementation among various departments to promote child development
  • To enhance the capability of the mother to look after the normal health, nutritional and development needs of the child through proper community education
  • To contribute to human capital development of the country
  • To achieve Sustainable Development Goals, specifically, SDG 2 on zero hunger and SDG 4 on quality education
  • Address challenges of malnutrition
  • Promote nutrition awareness, good eating habits and hygiene practices for sustainable health and wellbeing
  • Address nutrition related deficiencies through key strategies.
  • Package of Services :

    The Anganwadi Services Scheme provides the following package of services in an integrated manner to beneficiaries:

  • Supplementary nutrition
  • Pre-school non-formal education
  • Nutrition & health education
  • Immunization
  • Health check-up
  • Referral services
  • Three of the six services, viz., Immunization, Health check-up and Referral services are being provided through National Health Mission and Public Health Infrastructure, under the Health and Family Welfare Department.

    In addition to Sathumavu and eggs, 60 grams of fortified biscuits per day to Severely Malnourished Children.
    2- 6 years children 50 gms/day of Sathumavu, Hot Cooked Nutritious Variety meal for 6 days a week along with eggs for 3 days a week (Monday, Wednesday and Thursday), Black Bengal gram /Green gram on Tuesday and Boiled Potato on Friday are being provided to children attending pre school.
    Further Rice and Dhal is given as dry Ration on Sunday to all children. In addition to above, 30 grams of fortified biscuits per day to Severely Malnourished
    children.

    Supplementary Nutrition Programme

    Beneficiary’s viz., children, pregnant and lactating women often need additional nutrition for the optimum growth and wellbeing. Hence, Provision of Supplementary Nutrition under ICDS is primarily made to bridge the gap between the Recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA) and the Average Daily Intake (ADI).


    The Supplementary Nutrition Programme has two major components:
